The candidate will have the opportunity to meet, train with and be part of a team of PeaceJam VISTAs working at PeaceJam regional affiliates and chapters throughout the country.  Download the 2008-2009 PeaceJam VISTA Newsletter to meet some of the current PeaceJam VISTAs.

Qualifications
• Available for full-time VISTA service August 22, 2009 through August 22, 2010
• One to two years college level classes (Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred)
• Experience with at-risk youth, k-12 education, service-learning, and/or PeaceJam programming
• Able to take initiative and work independently
• Strong organizational skills (experience in community organizing desirable)
• Strong project management and computer skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Team player
• Must have car, valid driver’s license and current insurance for vehicle
• Must pass California LIVESCAN and FBI fingerprinting for Youth Peace Initiative
• Spanish language skills desirable, but not required
• Ability to make a full-year, full-time commitment (no outside employment or education commitments are allowed)
